Week 6
Well, I got my stained glass piece finished with soldering the hooks onto the top. I am pleased with it. But am excited to start the next project. My group is thinking about a train theme. One person doing a locomotive, one doing a lantern, and the last doing a miner's hat with a light. I believe that we will be working on that project together as soon as all of my group finishes soldering tonight.
And....a huge thank you to Dennis for the laptop computers!!! It is much appreciated.

The 3rd Week
This was the 3rd week of our class. I was so excited that we got to start our first project. It was fun looking through all of the various glass, but hard deciding on just 3 different ones to use. I was worried that we were already starting our project after only practicing for one day. But, cutting the glass came back to me after 20+ years, as I got all my pieces cut out. Next week, I'm excited to use my new grinder and get all my pieces of glass to fit together. I am loving this class.

Introduction
Hi, my name is Karen Irwin. I am a Special Education teacher at Huntington High School. I teach students with Mild, Moderate, and Autism. I use art and some crafts to teach some concepts and to provide a platform for expression. So, I feel that I could use this type of art expression with my milder students for not only expression, but also for learning about history.
